Recipients do not insert into labels, says next record

I am following the steops that it tells me to, but once I choose a list, the
data on the labels just says next record, then when it switches to the other
document it is blank, nothing prints. Why cant I insert my recipient list.
It is just a list of single names label templete 8166.
