Query for empty string value?

Using Word 2000 Mailmerge, It does not seem to work when I
query for Field: Country; Comparison: is not Blank; or
Field: Country; Comparison: equals; Campare to: ''

Any ideas?

Generally, I don't have any problems setting a query option
to "not blank".

What's your data source?
