Can't see merge data on screen

This is not a huge problem but irritating nonetheless.  When I do a mail
merge in Word, and I click on the "ABC" icon on the merge tool bar to see the
actual merge data, nothing happens.  I get only the merge field info not the
actual data.  I am running Windows XP and have Office XP Professional.  Is
there a fix for this?

Toggle the display with ALT+F9
