How can I get HP OfficeJet 1170Cxi printer to work on labels in Word 2003? I
have tried individual labels, full page from Envelope/Label Tool and printing
saved page of labels. I continue to get "printer error".

Labels are just tables in which the cells have fixed dimensions.  As a
result, the printer should not know the difference as far as what it is
receiving from Word is concerned.  Can you print a document of labels to
plain paper?  If so, the error may be caused by a problem with the paper
handling of the printer when it is being fed labels.
