Can anyone help me one of my merge fields produces the text in smaller font
size than the rest Why?

Likely, the merge field is formatted smaller. Make sure it's not BEFORE you
merge.

Toggle the field display - ALT+F9 - to give you {Mergefield fieldname}
Change that to {Mergefield fieldname \*charformat}
Toggle back then update - F9.
