A Word merge with Access adds decimal to numbers

When using a Word 2003 merge form and merging data from Access 2003, why does
the merge add decimal places to a number?

For example: 2300.9 is in the Access table but in the Word form it is
changed to 2300.89999.

The data in the Access table is formatted for only 1 decimal place.

Something in the database is FORMATTING it to one decimal, Harlan. You can
change your query/table, or you can just change the mergefield format. See
