I have been trying to merge a newly created Excel XP database with a newly
created letter--but, I am witnessing a phenomenon I have never encountered
with Mail Merge. The Excel fields are coming in scrambled. That is, I set up
the fields in the following order: company, street, town, state, zip. But it
comes into the letter as: state, zip, company, street, town. And, no matter
what I do, I cannot correct it. This is the first time I have ever seen this.
Has anyone else ever seen it, and if so, how can it be corrected?

If you are using the Address Block, don't.
Just insert the individual mergefields in the configuration that you want
them.
