Using Word & Excel 2003.  When we try to merge data from Excel that has been
formatted as $1,500 it merges into the doc as 1500.  We've tried everything,
from reformatting the cell back to General then reapplying Currency, and even
retyping that particular cell.

Any thoughts?

When merging with Office 2003, Word is now expected to provide the
formatting. You can do this with a formatting switch on the Word field - see
