I am trying to email merge a form in Word 2002. I want the form filled out
by the recipient and returned to the sender by email.

I can email merge an unprotected document just fine. I can design a document
that has the functioning form just fine. However when I try to email merge
the protected form. It will not work.

Any suggestions?

Hi Brent,

Formfields as used in a protected document will not survive the mailmerge
process.  As an alternative, you could attach the protected form to a merge
created email message using the procedure in the article "Mail Merge to
E-mail with Attachments" at

http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MailMerge/MergeWithAttachments.htm

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested.  Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
