This may be the wrong group, but I could not find another more suited. I
have one PC that Word stops responding when in the final stages of  a
merge. The user can do the merge on other PC's. I have completely
reinstalled the OS and Office on the PC. I don't think it is hardware
related as the PC does not freeze, just word. The OS is XP Pro and it is
Office XP. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

What is being used as the data source?  It may be worth renaming the
normal.dot template to normal.old and then restart Word and try again.

Hope this helps.

An SQL server database. I'll give it a shot. Thanks
