is there a keyboard layout to make typing faster for 'hunt & peck' ... i.e.
using 2 fingers [1st finger of R & L hands] ?

I don't know that Dvorak is better for hunt & peck. I suspect that having
whatever is shown on the keyboard is fastest for that. Dvorak is designed
for touch typing. (I use a Dvorak keyboard layout.)

On the other hand, Dvorak is designed to alternate hands more than the
QWERTY layout. For hunt & peck, though, you need to be able to see what you
are hunting for. You would need to change your keycaps or get an actual
Dvorak keyboard.
