Mail Merge automatically resetting my mail label option selection

Using the Mail Merge wizard for mailing labels, in the Label Options panel I
select "Avery A4 and A5 Sizes" and select the "L7163 - Address" label size
and click on OK.  However mail merge keeps on resetting this to "Avery
Standard / 5961 - Address" which has a different label vertical pitch and
therefore my data crosses the labels.

I've tried creating a custom label using exactly the same measurements, but
mail merge changes this to "Avery Standard / 2160 Mini - Address" label size.

This is very frustrating...... what I am doing wrong ?

Many thanks.  I certainly agree with Grahams first paragraph in the link
provided, and it explains why returning to the Label Options panel is so
confusing - it doesn't  display the actual label settings you previously
selected... just what it thinks you want to use next.  Checking the rulers
and spacing on the resulting blank document before proceeding to the next
step actually confirms the right label format has been selected.

My problem was, however, far simpler.  Deep in the advanced settings of my
laser printer, the paper was set to "letter" (doh!) despite when I installed
the drivers, all the hardware settings were set to A4.  Serves me right for
upgrading pc and software all at the same time and expecting everything to
work like it did on my old pc.

Thanks for the link to Grahams pages though.
