Is there a comprehensive list of Fields and switches I
can use in mailmerge?
Is there a breakdown of usable fields by compatible
version? I have client workstations with 97 to 2002 that
can't afford to upgrade :(

Thanks

Hi Dick,

I am not really sure what you are thinking of.  While there was a
significant change (for the worse) in the mailmerge user interface, there
was no change as far as fields are concerned

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the

Hope this helps

I am looking for a complete list of fields (and switches)
I can insert (bracketed by F9) in merge documents -
inaddition to the few on the drop down. For
example "COMPARE", "DATE", etc. and their definitions.
The best I can do is find one at a time references in
knowledge articles. MS must have a list somewhere?

thanks

Dick

Hi Dick,

The knowledge base article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;211308&Product=wrd
contains a list of the fields that are "unlinked = don't work" and "not
unlinked = do work" when a mailmerge is executed.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested.  Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
