I open WordXP an JUST look at a file. I do not make any
changes to the file. But when I close the file I am asked
Do I want to save changes? Also If I create a new document
the font size is set for 125% not 100%.Why is this? Thanks
for the help.

Hi Maureen,

Well, not exactly the most appropriate group for your
questions, but I hope I can provide adequate answers.

When you open a document, certain things happens, such as
updating fields. If your document contains any fields that
update on opening, Word will see the document has having
been "changed" and prompt you about saving. Just for
example...

What was the ZOOM (not font size) of the document you're
currently viewing, or if none is opened, the last that was
open?
