Merge is shortening some fields

Merge is cutting short some of the data in some fields.  It's not consistent
though.  How can i make sure that the entire data field is included?

We need more information.

1. Version of Word?

2. What's the data source?

3. Can you discern any kind of pattern as to the critical length?
