Hi,

How can I change a date mergefield
so it shows dd-mm-yyyy
now by default? it shows  mm-dd-yyyy

I tried  adding  \@ "dd-mm-yyyy"
to the mergefield options
but the month shows 00

kind regards
christophe

What you should have is
\@ "dd-MM-yyyy"

Graham,

It doesn't work very well.
the date starts with the month ?!
I've checked the table (foxpro table)
There it is ok.
I've changed in word the mergefieldcoding to MM-dd-yyyy
and then it shows correct.
but the first user who will see this coding
He will probably ask if everthing is ok with me ;-)

regards
christophe

Now you have introduced a different issue :(
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327579/
Also
From the Tools menu in Word, select Options and then go to the General tab
and check the box against the "Confirm conversions at open" item.  Then when
you attach the data source to the mail merge main document, you will be
given the option of using the DDE method of connection which should read the
date as you have it formatted in the table.
