When I fax a document from Word, the resulting document is not the same as
what I typed. For instance, I have a 40-page document here, but when I fax
it, he receives a 35-page document. It's all there, but it fits on less
pages. Makes it difficult to edit over the phone when he tells me to look at
page 31, and for me it's actually page 34.
When I attempt to send him a portion of the document (say pages 34-37), I
have to tell Word to send pages 31-35, because that's what pages it will be
on the faxed version. Not an exact science, to say the least. Anything I
can do about this?

Set fax as the active printer whilst formatting the document. Word formats
to the current printer.
Check that the document and fax are both using the same paper size.
