I use ctlr + x, c, and v for editing purposes. Now when I
attempt to cut, copy, or paste with the ctrl key, the Find
and Replace tool pops up. I checked my settings in Tools >
Customize > Keyboard and they are correct. Any ideas why
my shortcut keys are suddenly not working? Thanks!

Make sure you don't have the Word Perfect help or navigation option enabled
on the General tab of Tools | Options; these often result in shortcuts
working strangely.

The usual shortcut key for the Replace dialog is Ctrl+H. You might go to
Tools | Customize: Keyboard and check All Commands: EditReplace to make sure
that shortcut (and no other) is still assigned.

Very bizarre. I'm out of ideas; perhaps someone else can contribute.

One last desperate thought: Check Tools | Macro | Macros to see if there are
any macros named EditCopy, EditCut, EditPaste. If so, they would be
hijacking those commands. If you didn't write them, you can safely delete
them--if Word will let you. If not, change the "Macros in" setting till you
find what template or add-in they're coming from. If it's an add-in, it's
one you don't need!

One more thing! I found out I have a virus called
w97m.marker.gen and Norton Antivirus can't delete it. Do
you think this may be causing my problems? I'm not sure
how to get rid of it. WHen I searched for the file it
could not be found so I couldn't delete it manually.

One of the effects of the Blaster worm was to disrupt the Clipboard some way
so that paste operations failed. So I would think that a virus could very
well be responsible.

You MUST get rid of this virus. Search the name at Google and check out the
removal methods indicated by the anti-virus companies.
