MS Office Forum / Word / Menus and Toolbars / January 2004Short Cut Keys
I use ctlr + x, c, and v for editing purposes. Now when I attempt to cut, copy, or paste with the ctrl key, the Find and Replace tool pops up. I checked my settings in Tools > Customize > Keyboard and they are correct. Any ideas why my shortcut keys are suddenly not working? Thanks! Make sure you don't have the Word Perfect help or navigation option enabled on the General tab of Tools | Options; these often result in shortcuts working strangely. -- Suzanne S. One last desperate thought: Check Tools | Macro | Macros to see if there are any macros named EditCopy, EditCut, EditPaste. If so, they would be hijacking those commands. If you didn't write them, you can safely delete them--if Word will let you. If not, change the "Macros in" setting till you find what template or add-in they're coming from.
