Whenever i use the print screen key  on my microsoft
keyboard to freeze a screen and then print it out in
microsoft word with the paste key, the new image that is
pasted in my word document used to be a picture of the
frozen screen image I was working with. It now shows only
a pdf symbol instead of the picture that used to show up
and allow me to save and print captured screens. Does
anyone know what is causing this problem, and can I fix
it so it works the way it use to?

Hi Jerry,

Version of Word and Windows?

If you open a graphics program (such as the Windows
Accessory "Paint") and paste into it, do you still get the
icon? Or the entire picture?

Word 2000 Xp professional.   I tried powerpoint, pasted it
and the picture came out properly.  I then opened word
and pasted and the picture of the screen showed up
properly. I think this happened to me in the past and I
forgot. I,ll reboot my system and open word first and
then paste to see if I need to paste into a different
program first. Thanks for your help. I,m still a bit
confused.

OK :-) It may have just been a momentary glitch in the
Windows system, or in Word. Or it could be (or have been) a
problem with the graphics card driver.
