MS Office Forum / Word / Menus and Toolbars / January 2004flashing right angle
HELP PLEASE!! My boss brought in his laptop and asked me to look at it. In Word, when you open up a document, in the upper left hand corner-a right angle with flash. whit it flashes, it turns the cursor into the hourglass, so you cannot click on it (left or right). The right angle is made up of; verticle-an up arrow, a dot and a down arrow. horizontal-the view display buttons (web view, print view, etc). It flashes every 15 seconds. Any ideas on how to make it stop? What you are describing is Word's vertical and horizontal scroll bars. It sounds as if the Word window has somehow been turned around (or something weird). I wonder if this might have something to do with Right-to-Left or vertical language support or the like. -- Suzanne S. Check Start | Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office <version> Language Settings and see if there are any Asian or Middle Eastern languages enabled. If so, you might want to disable them.
