When I hightlight text in a document I cannot control it!!
It is so annoying, I can't even use the arrow keys because
it does the same. How do I fix this problem?

Click mouse on beginning of passage to be highlighted. Hold Shift key
down. Scroll to end of passage with the mouse wheel. Click. Release
shift and then click the highlight button with your mouse.
There are bunch of other tricks to efficiently highlighting text --
like cntrl clicking a sentence, triple clicking in a paragraph,
single, double, and triple clicking that small margin on the left of
the word window.
There's also a bunch of "tricks" concerning the scroll bar at right
(put cursor in scroll bar and click your mouse wheel).

Hi Bill,
Two possibilities:
- Upgrade to Word 2002
- Downgrade your computer to a slower processor
Yeah, I know - neither possibility is feasible. <grin>
The did rectify the problem with the scroll speed in Word 2002. For
other versions there are several workarounds.
"xiray"provided a few: utilize your Shift key and the Selection bar
(that small margin on the left)
If you have a wheel mouse my favorite method is to hold the left mouse
button and roll the wheel instead of dragging.
If these don't work for you then I'm sure you'll get a few other
suggestions. :-)
