I am trying to customize the "My Places" bar in the Open
and Save As dialog boxes (Word XP).  The "Add to My
Places" item in the "Tools" menu is always greyed out.
Is it possible to customize this bar?  -- Thanks, Todd.

Yes, but you can only add folders, not files. If you have a folder selected,
the menu item should be enabled. If you want quick access to specific files,
you might try the Work menu (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/WorkMenu.htm).
