Word is constantly shutting me down ("Microsoft has
encountered an error...")in the midst. It always comes
back up saved from where I was as I have it automatically
save every two min. We have installed Word as a new
install (I have XP Home) and it still does it. Only in
Word, no other program. Please advise

Do you have any add-ins loading with Word?
Acrobat? Winfax? Norton AV? Badly behaved add-ins are a common cause of such
problems.

Note that 'save autorecover information' is not the same as 'autosave'. For
that you need SaveReminder linked from the favourites page of my web site.
