Working with Microsoft Publisher

I have created a stationery/letterhead format in Microsoft
Publisher.  I am trying to get Word to use the format when
creating and printing letters.  I know I can copy the text
from Word to a textbox in Publisher, but that will prove
to be a hassle, particularly for multi-page documents.  I
haven't been able to figure out how to save the Publisher
template so that Word can pull it in.  Thoughts or
suggestions?

I would suggest saving the the Publisher Publication as a Word document from
the Save as type location. The open the the publication you saved as a Word
document in Word and save again, but this time as document template.

Not successful, unfortunately.  In Publisher, the Save As
Word function only saves any text.  Any formating,
borders, etc, seem to be lost.  I am trying to copy the
formatting objects from Publisher into Word and set up a
template in Word, but I think that will be only a fair (at
best) substitute.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Publisher and Word are separate applications. You will need to create the
template in Word. You can include graphic elements in a Word template and
while this may not be as simple to do as with Publisher, the results should
be similar.

Or do what a lot of other people do. Print blank letterhead stationery
(from Publisher). Feed it into the printer when you write a letter.

Word, isn't really that good at creating professional looking
stationery. Besides, it is also really not a page layout application,
despite its having some features that might make you think otherwise.

By the way, for professional purposes, Publisher is not really a great
page layout application either, but you can get by with it.
