I have a teacher that allowed a student to use her
computer. He deleted items on her toolbar and we can't get
them to come back again. She has no file "drop-down" on her
toolbar. Is there any easy way to set her toolbar to the
original settings?. We have tried everything, including
removing and reinstalling the entire Office 97/2000/2002
programs and have had this problem before. Please send
instructions on how to easily reset the Office toolbars to
new original settings. Why when we uninstall and reinstall
Office does the toolbar not go back to original look?.
Thanks Paul

You can reset toolbars and menu bars using the Reset button in Tools |
Customize. Also see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/RestoreMenuCmd.htm. But this may not
be the fault of a student. Many users have reported losing commands from
their menu bar, and I routinely suggest that they try these
fixes (in order):

1. Open Tools | Customize. On the Toolbars tab, select Menu Bar and press
Reset.

2. If that doesn't work, switch to the Commands tab and select Built-in
Menus in the Categories list. In the Commands list, select the appropriate
menu and drag it to the menu bar.

3. If that doesn't work (or the problem recurs on restarting Word), see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm

Can I perform this "reset toolbar" function programmatically using c#?
Thanks.
