I want to customize the normal.dot and push it out to
other users with preselected options.  When I push it
during testing the not all settings are held.  Any
suggestions?

It is neither necessary nor desirable to mess with users' normal.dot files.
If you wish to impose standards do so with document templates. If you wish
to add functions, use global templates.

I use global templates as well.  Currently we push these down to the
user's systems  by having them run a .bat file.  The partners at the
firm do not wish to incorporate the .bat file into a login script.
However, we are finding that we cant' rely on users to remember to run
the .bat file.  Any suggestions on how to push these down in a more
automatic fashion?

Set the users machines to point to the same Word startup folder on the
network (and the same Workgroup folder for document templates). They then
don't have to remember to do anything.
