Somehow I believe I messed up my default normal.dot
template settings. Now everytime I attempt to open a new
Blank document...the heading settings are very large, and
I cannot back space.  Thus the document has a 4 inch
header.  How can I reinstall the normal.dot default
template??

Thanks!

Hi, Tracey,

It sounds like normal.dot may be damaged/corrupted, so have a look at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm.

If you want to try a less drastic fixup first, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeNormalTemplate.htm.

On the Layout tab of Page Setup, check to make sure that the vertical
alignment is set to Top and not Center. If it's set to Center, change it to
Top, then click the Default... button. If that is not the problem, then do
what Jay said.
