MS Office Forum / Word / Menus and Toolbars / March 2004Toolbar Screentips do not stay on.
When Customizing toolbars in MS Word 2000; there is a checkbox to show screentips on the toolbars. We have selected this option several times and word clears the checkbox upon exiting. Other computers are not doing this. We have tried customizing the normal template without success. Any ideas? Thanks, John. We also tried the fix listed at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm When any Options item doesn't "stick," there are two likely causes: 1. A damaged Word Data key in the Registry. Rebuild it using the instructions at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm. 2. An add-in that is changing the settings.
