Default Tab in Normal Template

I used to be able to update the default tab in a new
document by updating normal.dot.  In Word 2003, I don't
see a default tab setting to change.

When I create a new document with a different default tag
setting and go to style organizer and update the normal
template, the default tag setting goes back to .5"

If someone know how please send response to my email -
mspector@kleenamatic.com

Thanks

G'day "Mike" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com>,

Define tabs in your styles and ALWAYS use styles.
