In changing from Windows 98 to XP, I cannot find a way to
move my very extensive autotext entries from one computer
to the other.  I use the autotext as a shorthand and have
hundreds of entries.  How can I move them to XP without
having to enter all of them one at a time yet again?

Unless you are changing Word versions or computers, you shouldn't need to do
anything.

AutoText is stored in templates. It is stored in the normal.dot template by
default. Find that template and copy it (in Windows, not Word) to a floppy
disk or CD-ROM for backup. If you are changing Word versions or reinstalling
Word, rename your old normal.dot to something like MyAutoText.dot. Save it
in your Word startup folder and restart Word. Your old AutoText will all be
available if it was stored in normal.dot before. (Also available will be any
custom toolbars, macros, and keyboard shortcuts.)
