built-in work menu - how to clean up?

I use the built-in menu called work (kind of like a
favorites for word docs) but can't figure out how to
remove items.  "Add to work menu" is great for putting
more on but there is no delete.

With a previous word (not 2002) I could customize the
built-in menu off and then put it back and all items would
be gone but that doesn't work now.
