When I want to save a document, quite often I like it
saved with the same name as the forst few words of the
first line of text in the document. I haven't been able
to automatically do this. I have to type in the title I
want to use. Is there a way to have this selected
automatically when I use the save as function.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Ordinarily the first few words will be suggested as the filename provided
the Title field of the document properties (File | Properties) is blank. If
the template has text in the Title field, this will be replicated in the
document.

Suzanne
I was using a template that had something in the title
field, and when I removed that, then everything was OK.
Thanks for the suggestion I really appreciate it.

This is very common with templates inherited from earlier versions, where
what is now the Title field was used as a description of the template (which
you can now put in the Description field). The description was all you had
to go by in the File New dialog--there was no preview picture.
