Ideally on autosave for documents I would like a copy saved to
c:\MyDocuments and another on a floppy in the A: drive. I set Word to
save a backup copy but it saves the backup on my A: drive with the
original document. Now if my floppy goes so does the backup.
Periodically I save a copy of the document to the local C: drive as a
Save As then I immediately do another Save As on the A: drive so that
my autosaves will go to the floppy.
I searched the whole local C: drive in all folders including hidden
for another backup of the docement named the same as the backup copy
on the A: drive and there isn't one. The only backup copy is going to
the floppy with the original.
Word help isn't really any help with this so I thought that I would
aske here.

Thanks.

There is no 'autosave' by default in Word. What you have set up is
'autorecover' which is not the same at all.

*Never* save to (or open from) floppy disc it is one of the most certain
methods to ensure document corruption. By all means *copy* a document to
floppy for safety - but never *save* it as this creates hidden temporary
files for which there may be insufficient space.

You can add autosave functionality, with tools provided with Word - and save
to multiple locations with the aid of a macro - see
