In Word 2002 I believe that it may be possible to change
the default Icons (Folders and locations) listed
under "Look In" in the "open" window - after going
to "file" - "open". Is that true and if so can someone
give me the procedure to accomplish this?

I think you are referring to the "places bar." Search on the MVP FAQ for
that term and you'll find a free downloadable utility for changing these.
