Hello~
Thank you for taking the time to help me with my problem.
A friend was typing a paper the other day and all the
sudden it would not let them type anymore or edit. And at
the bottom this message comes up on the bar that
says "This command is not available becuase the document
is locked for edit". They said they didn't hit anything
to make it do it and I have no idea what to do to unlock
it. When I try to open the program and start a new page
it won't even let me type. I would appreciate any ideas
on how to get this fixed.

Have your friend activated the copy of Word? Check under the Help menu. If
there is a command there about "Activate" try it. If you have a version that
doesn't require activation there won't be such a command. If you have
already activated, it will tell you that.
