How do I save customized toolbars (buttons, macro
shortcuts) when upgrading to XP? I understand they are
housed in a directory and all it takes is saving that
directory in another location. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I found the answer to another user that referenced the
link:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm

but it doesn't seem to answer the question.

They aren't saved in a directory, they are saved in your Normal.dot template
which is the basis for all new files. The Backup link is a tad oblique by
not specifying toolbars, but clearly says all customizations are saved in
Normal.

See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step
instructions on moving / sharing / copying customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, macros, etc.
