I turned on the blue back ground/white text but did not
likeit so I turned it off.  The blue back ground left, but
the white text stayed.  I can not see the typing.  How do
I turn the black typing back on so I can see and print my
documents.

Just a hunch, but try under Tools > Options > General. Anything that has to
do with Word Perfect, uncheck.

My guess is that the paragraph style has been changed to white text and
automatically saved in normal.dot. The font colour should be set to auto so
that it can adapt to the background.

Ensure tools > options > save > prompt to save normal.dot is checked, so it
cannot do this sort of thing unannounced. I think I'd be inclined to rename
normal.dot to oldnormal.dot to allow Word to build a new default one, which
will reset the styles. Then checkout tools > autocorrect options >
autoformat as you type and make sure Word is not setting anything relating
to styles (and probably most of the other stuff too) automatically.

Edit>>Select All   then change the font color to black.

And don't post your email address in the newsgroup--it
invites the Swen virus.
