Word 2003 Toolbars disappearing

and I deleted the registry key as suggested.  The custom
toolbars were then recreated, worked for a few hours,
then disappeared again.  

This also happens in other programs like Frontpage and
PowerPoint.  I use Word more often so destroying my
custom toolbars is very annoying.

Any ideas?

Custom toolbars are stored in Normal.dot - it's the standard toolbars that
are in the registry.
Sounds like you have a corrupt normal.dot.

Rename it to oldnormal.dot and Word will build a new one.
