Using Word 2003 and Win XP Home, I created a global template to contain
customization as suggested by Charles Kenyon. Whenever I close Word, even
just opening the app and immediately closing it, I get a warning that
normal.dot has changed and asking if I want to save it. I know I can get
rid of the message by setting a Word->Tools->Options Save tab entry, but I'd
sort of like to be warned when I do something to change normal.dot.
The global template contains only a couple of macros (which I do not even
need to use get this message) assigned to buttons placed (in the template
not in normal.dot) on the Standard toolbar.
How do I get the normal.dot message to stop?
Thanks. Randy Scarborough

First, unload your Add-In and make sure that it is what is causing this.
Move it out of your Start-Up folder. You usually get this message with an
Add-In that uses code to change the interface when the code does not
properly set the customization context. This code is usually in an AutoExec
macro. It doesn't sound like your Add-In has any such code.
