Hi,
Is there a way to change the "skin" in Office XP? The
background color (toolbars, file, edit, etc.)(not the Write
screen) is too glaring and hard on my eyes.
Word97 had the soft gray and that's what I want for the XP
version.
I know I can set the appearance to Classic Windows, but
that's not what I want to do. I don't want to change the
entire system colors.
Doable???
Thx.

Change "skin" appearance:
Appearance can be modified in the control panel "display properties". The
light background (10% grey) can be customized here as well.
Avoid that annoying "new document" pane:
use the "open new document" icon instead of the file drop-downth menu to
by pass the pain on the right.

To change ?skin? appearance:

You will have to customize the various background aspects to get a better
contrast (instead of the 10% grey background).
