Does anyone know how to save a file so that it has a
preview when you select it before opening it.
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks

Hi Scott,
Preview Contents Before Opening Documents in Word 97/2000
http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/preview.aspx?AssetID=HA010448981033&;
CTT=4&;Origin=CH010423181033
Ever forgotten what was in a file, even when the file name was familiar?
With Microsoft Word 97/2000, you can preview the contents of a file before
you open the file. The Preview command provides file information from the
Open dialog box in Word 97/2000.
To preview document contents
On the File menu, click Open.
In the Look in box, select the drive that contains the file you want to
view.
In the folder list, click the file you want to view.
In the Open dialog box, do one of the following:
In Word 97, click Preview.
In Word 2000, click the arrow next to the Views menu, and then click
Preview.
Please let me know has this helped You...
Thank you...
Raghu...

File > properties > summary > check 'save preview picture'. Note that this
increases file size.

On the Summary tab of File | Properties there is a check box for "Save
preview picture," but you really don't want to use this because it creates a
bitmap that greatly increases file size. Moreover, the preview it creates is
a thumbnail of the entire first page, too small to be readable. If you don't
save a preview picture, you can still get a preview of files saved in recent
versions of Word. Raghu has told you how to enable the Preview view in File
| Open, and files *without* preview pictures still have a preview that is an
actual window into the document. It's not WYSIWYG, but it is scrollable and
readable, so you can get a better idea of the content.
