I wish to delete standard fonts off my hard drive, I have
located where the fonts are stored and deleted most of
the ones I no longer require, however whenever I try to
delete a font such as Times New Roman or Gill Sans my PC
will not let me. If anyone has any suggestions I would
be grateful

Hi Becky,
See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/DeleteFontsSafely.htm for some
information about fonts that you should *not* delete. Times New Roman is one
of those, but as far as I'm aware Gill Sans isn't.
When you say your PC won't let you delete some fonts, do you mean that you
get an error message when you try, or that they automatically get put back?

If you remove fonts that are used by Windows, you will end up with a non
working version of Windows.
Fonts are not only used in documents, but to display text in applications
even Windows itself.
