Hi - I used to have Adobe Acrobat icons in my toolbar and
mysteriously they have now disappeared.  When I go into
TOOLBARS, I don't even have the PDFmaker option anymore.

Can anyone explain where they went and how I can get them
back?

I just checked my PowerPoint and Excel programs, and they
both still have the Adobe Acrobat icons.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, DDL.  Click on Tools | Templates and Add-ins... under "Global
templates and add-ins", is PDFMaker.dot listed as a choice, and is it
checked?

Hi - I just checked and it shows 2 items, both are
currently unchecked:  PDFMaker.dot and PDFMakerA.dot

I was about to check the 2 boxes and ADD, but then it
brought me to a pop-up window to add a template, and I
wasn't quite sure what to do at that point.  There was
one document in the template window called NORMAL.

Can you advise me on the next step?  And thanks for your
help!

Check the box next to PDFMaker.dot, but leave PDFMakerA.dot NOT
checked.  Yes, you want to add the PDFMaker.dot template, because it
contains the Acrobat toolbar.

Hi - just to make sure I don't do anything wrong, hee
hee...

I will check the PDFMaker.dot box only.
Then do I just hit OK?  At first, I thought I had to push
ADD, but now I'm thinking that I just hit OK.

Thanks again for your reply.
Nervous Nellie.  ;-)

Interesting this, because Adobe's add-in (PDFMaker.dot) is quite pervasive.
If it is in the correct Office startup folder it is quite difficult to get
rid of, so having it present but unchecked suggests it is in the wrong
folder. The office startup folder changed with Word 2003 and is now -
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP. If placed in that folder
it should load and be checked automatically.
