I just today saved my custom toolbar settings when a
dialogue box appeared, but I cannot find the place to do
it again or to retrieve them. Please help. Thanks,
Elizabeth

They typically are saved in Normal.dot. Check Tools - Options - Save -
Prompt to Save Normal template.

With that option checked, you will be prompted to save changes to Normal.dot
when closing Word. You also can force Word to save changes at any time by
pressing Shift and clicking File - Save All (pressing Shift while clicking
File forces the Save All command to appear).

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply. This is different. It is a "backup"
file that saves all personal settings. Any other ideas?

There is no function inherent in Word to do this, but it's anyone's guess
what other software you may have. How about the Office 'Save My Settings'
Wizard?

Windows Start > programs > Microsoft Office > Office Tools.
