I have two problems:  1.  When I open Word 2000, my
menubar and toolbar are missing.  I have tried
reinstalling Microsoft Office 2000, but that doesn't fix
the problemt.  Is there a preference somewhere that hides
the toolbar?  Does anyone know how to correct a missing
menubar and toolbar?  2.  When I go to Microsoft to ask
for free help, I have to provide a product code.  In order
to find the product code, I have to open Microsoft Word
and click on the Help Menu and then click on "About
Microsoft Word."  However I can't access the Help menu
because I can't see the menu bar.  HELP!!!

The toolbar problem is just a minor glitch in the Windows registry.  See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm.

I've got the same problem with my machine - the menu and
toolbar is missing, but it was previously there, but due
to user error (not me!) it's now gone...i don't know if
it's hidden or whatever, but i've tried to rename the
normal.dot as suggested in the mvps.org site below but
nothing works.

Any other ideas???

Thanks.

Hi, JD.  Read the article again.  It does not say to rename normal.dot.
