When starting Word 2000, the default document does not
appear as 'Document 1'. Instead, it is named 'Document
4'. How do I change the default document number to start
as 'Document 1'?
I have closed all instances of Word and have verified
under Task Manager that winword.exe is not running. I
have also deleted normal.dot under c:\documents and
settings\username\application data\microsoft\templates. I
have checked Outlook 2000 to verify that Word is not being
used to edit e-mail messages.
Any ideas?

Have you restarted Windows? Deleted all temp files? Usually the former is
sufficient, but the latter is always a good idea.

Figured it out. Cleaned out the Temp folder and
rebooted. All is well.
