Yes, Suzanne, I have tried that. It changes my screen to
blue and my characters to white - fine. But when I type
something and go to "print preview" (where the screen is
white by default) it is as if the white characters are
lost -- white on white and you can not see them!
Thanks for taking a stab at this. I appreciate your
thoughtfulness.

Oddly, I'm not seeing that at all in Word 2003. What I'm seeing is that
Normal and Print Layout views show black text as white (other colors don't
change), and Print Preview shows all font colors as they should be. Do you
have the font color for Normal style set to Automatic rather than black or
white?
