When I'm using Find/Replace with looooooooong Find strings, or with
advanced wildcard find strings, the FindNext jumps to the next hit,
selects it, and places the last line of the selected text at the very
top of my window.  Then I can't see if it's selected what I want or
not.  I have to fiddle with the mouse and scroll bar to double check
the selected find.

How can I modify Word 2000 to display FindNext selected text in the
middle of the window, so I can see the whole thing?

Hi <*((((><{,

I don't think there's any way you can modify this behavior.

Hi <*((((><{

Sometimes it works a bit better if you search from the bottom of the document upwards.

I've posted a macro to center the view (more or less) after a "Find", but found that too clumsy for use.

You should write to Microsoft about that, as a suggestion:

Myself, I'd like Word to try and show the whole matched text, plus one or two lines above to see the context.

Greetings,
Klaus
