How do I stop Markup from showing every time a document is opened? Using
Windows XP, Office XP.

The relevant option is on the Security tab of Tools | Options, which should
give you a clue why we don't recommend disabling it. This is designed to
prevent you the embarrassment (or worse) of sending out a document with
unaccepted tracked changes in it.
