Can this be done?

You could add the following line to an autoopen macro which would force that
view, but I feel that it would get rather irritating after a while :(

   ActiveWindow.View.ReadingLayout = True

Hi Stephanie,

As Graham pointed out, you can use a macro in MS Word 2003
but in MS WordView 2003 (Word viewer) macros aren't supported
and MS doesn't have a supported method for setting a default
for the view option.
